Eleven Years Old!

It Is My B- day.  We had pancacs. And a cup for orjos. for lunch. The pankaks had a  cream cheese. and swrgr surols. It wos good. I am having a fun day. We just had kake and ice krem.

Here is the pancake recipe if you want to try them too.

Make your favorite pancake batter. We made pumpkin pancakes with gingerbread cookie spice in it.

Make a cinnamon topping with 1 stick melted butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1 TBL of ground cinnamon.  Mix together well and put in a ziplock bag.

Make the icing by adding 4 Tbl softened butter to 2 ounces of cream cheese.  Add 3/4 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.  Mix well until no lumps remain.

Start baking the pancakes like normal.  But, after clipping a small hole in the bag, squeeze some cinnamon mixture in a spiral over the pancake before flipping.  Cook as normal.  When ready to eat, add cream cheese icing.

Daddy said these would be great for a Thanksgiving or Christmas breakfast!

 

Making Yogurt

I made yogurt with Mommy. I had lots of fun. It was easy.

First we warmed up the milk with powdered milk. Then we cooled it down in cold, iced water. Then we stirred in yogurt. We put it in clean cans and kept it warm in a cooler all day.  Then we put it in the refrigerator.

Then we get to enjoy and eat! I like it with fruit and honey and nuts!

Hair

For Daddy’s birthday, I wanted to dress up. I found this one hair style that I really liked. Momma did it to my hair. When I showed Momma what I wanted, she said it looked hard to do. There was probably a special tool.  There was no special tool and it was EASY.

Audrey had a friend over and they wanted to be twins. So they dressed up like twins and wore the same hair style.  They looked just like twins for Daddy’s party!

Then on Sunday, we all wore the same hair style!

 

 

Experiments in Chocolate

Momma bought some cacao nibs to try.  They taste interesting, kind of like concentrated dark chocolate chips. They taste bitter like coffee beans.

We decided to try making chocolate candy.  We mixed equal parts of coconut oil with the ground raw cacoa beans (Momma said raw is much better for us).  Then we added ground Demerara (unrefined) sugar.  We wanted it to blend well and not be a grainy candy. Then we added some ground almonds.  The recipe Momma used suggested ground coconut, but we did not have any.  Mix it well and put it in candy molds then put in the refrigerator and wait.  We pulled the candy to soon and it melted when we took it out of the mold, so be patient. It was good when we tasted it but melted very easily.

We had some extra and put it on top of vanilla ice cream and it was GOOD.  It was hard when we tasted it. 

We should try it again, but try it with the coconut. We are also looking for a different recipe to try.  Momma wants to see about one with cocoa butter too. Maybe it won’t melt as easily.

Camp bag

I made a bag for camp. I made 90% of the bag. I like sowing. The bag is pink and the inside is tan with flowres.  It is BIG. And I do not now wot I am going to pot in it. Thar is 5 pokits. Thar is a snap to snap it.

Are nabr shoed us a bag liek it . I liket it so she gave us the patrn. Oma gave me the inside. And I pikt out the mutereol and Momma bot it.

It was ese! But, it lookt hard. It took 2 days to sow.

Our neighbor showed us a bag like it (she made for her daughters).  I liked it, so she gave us the pattern.  Oma gave me the inside (material).  And I picked out the (pink outside) material and Momma bought it.

It was easy! But it looked hard. It took two days to sew.
