Junior Naturalist Camp

Artist Mark Daniels. Isn’t he great?

Last week we went to Junior Naturalist Camp. It is a camp were we visit a lot of places to learn more about nature. When we are done with the classes, if we volunteer (6 hours) to help one of the places we visited, we earn a Jr. Naturalist certificate and a pin.

I knew most of the stuff that they were teaching, but some of the stuff I didn’t know. It was good review. We went to see the schoolhouse (at Bonneyville) and we did a class about rocks. We went to a forest and learned about trees. We went to the water in Oxbow to learn about water creatures (Mark calls them “aquatic creatures”). We made butterflies when we studied insects. We played games and made some friends.

On the last day, we got caricature pictures drawn. He asked us what was one of our favorite things at camp. I said writing in my journal. I like my picture. Some of the boys had really funny pictures. One was riding on a turtle bigger than he is. Another was riding a snake board, just like a skate board but with a snake.

I am glad camp is over because I can sleep in. Camp was long days (8:00-5:00) all week and we learned a lot! But, I had a lot of fun and wish we could still go.

First Soccer Game

Soccer chaseOn Saturday, I had my first soccer game. I played defense. I almost made a goal, but the goalie caught it.  We played on a whole field (last year it was a much smaller field) Our score was 2 to 2.

It was very cold outside! I couldn’t wear my pants, so I was very cold! I hope my next game is warmer, but not hot!

My next game is on Sunday at 3:00 at the NIBCO Soccer Fields in Elkhart.

Quick Trip to Canada

We went to the Omar’s house. They are my cousins.  I helped with entertaining Megan. So Megan played dress up with me.  I read books with the boys. I strung beads with the girls.

We went our Uncle John’s wedding. It was pretty. They had no cake. They had a potluck with cupcakes for dessert!

We came home yesterday. It was long, loud and rainy.  I took a nap.  Daddy treated us to Wendys and Tim Hawkins (as Adrian called it, it should be Tim Hortons) for donuts.

Thanks for…Work

I work across the street with the goats and alpacas. I’m learning how skinny alpacas are when they get sheared. Mark and I feed them, fill up their water or dump it if it bad and clean the goat’s stalls.

I like working with the goats and the alpacas. I am thankful for animals and being able to work with them.

Thank for- Megan

Giving Thanks–MP3 Players

I love to read. But I have trobol reading. Daddy and Momma bot me a MP3 player to read to me. I also have a Now Bible to help me. Momma and Daddy reads to me too.

We go to the librey and find lisening tapes that we have the book too .  Thay find books that we have and down lode books (like from Books Should be Free) . I read them.

Here’s some of the books I read. We still find lisening tapes from the librey.

Momma is helping me now.  I am telling her what to write.

Something I would really like are listening tapes or MP3’s of books we have or other good books. Momma says that she can’t find all the books that I want.  Would you like to record an MP3 story for me?  I need the story read exactly as it is written in the book so I can follow along.  Right now I am looking for Hardy Boy recordings.  I also would like to read Nancy Drew.  I love to read lots, so I run out of books faster than Momma can find me new ones.  I would like to try Millie or Violet by Martha Finley.  I also would love some Asterix. Please talk to Momma or Daddy if you need ideas. I have some book ideas on my wishlist.

Thank you God for MP3 players so I can read lots of different kinds of books!

Giving Thanks–Messy Megan

The other day Megan was pretending to be a princess. After dinner, Megan was showing Daddy how to be a princess. Then she ate something and got it all over her face!

I am thankful for a sister that is funny!  Well, I have two silly sisters, but one is a princess and the other is a monkey.

Thank you God for my sisters!
