  1. Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me

  2. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
    Isa 41:10

Why is this a great verse? Many things in life would cause us to be dismayed and to fear because we have so little strength. But God says, fear not, I got this thing, I’ll help you, I’ll hold you up.

  3. My favorite verse is Romans 8:28 ” And we know that all things work together for good to them who love God and to them who are called according to His purpose.” It is my favorite because I have found this verse to be true throughout many instances in my life including when I was laid off from my first job out of college. I quoted this verse to my boss when he gave me my lay off notice and he called me several years later and told me how much that verse meant to him.

  4. One of my favorites verse is Nahum 1:7, “The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and he knows those who trust in him.”

I know, that no matter what happens, the Lord is good. When I struggle, he is a foundation for me to lean against. And he knows who I was and who I am now. He knows that trusting him is not always easy, but he knows my heart.

  5. Philippians 4:8
Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is anything excellent and praiseworthy think about such things…
I like this verse because it is an easy reminder of how to shape your thinking in a God honoring way. Replace bad thoughts with these kind of thoughts. 🙂

  6. I had several verses in mind, but as I read through what had been posted already, most had been used. 🙂 The verse I have chosen are ones that has been a favorite for a long time. Psalm 37:3,4, 5
    3. Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
    4. Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
    5. Commit your way unto the LORD,
trust also in Him and He will bring it past.

A lady at camp suggested I learn these verses and think on them as I contemplated my future. They do come back to my memory to remind me where I should be and what I should be doing.

I need to put my trust in God and do the job that He has for me. Make God my heart’s delight and will give me my desires because He has changed my heart and my desires to His. He has done this for me in many new situations that I did not want. He changed my desire, protected us all, and has and is giving us the desires of our hearts. I pray this for my grandchildren as well, that they would TRUST and DELIGHT in the Lord and COMMIT their ways to the Lord. A note: One of the meanings for commit is to ‘roll together’ or ‘bind’.

  7. Here is another favorite verse Sweetheart. I was given this when I went to Boston for the first time. I really wanted to go, but was a little scared. My friend Kathy gave me Isaiah 41:10. This is the NIV version since that is what I learned.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
