Baking with Auntie Kristi

When we were with Auntie Kristi, I helped her bake several things. I helped her make a dessert and macaroni noodles.

The dessert was kind of hard because it had a super thin layer of crust. Then we put some whipped topping/ cream cheese mixture on and we were trying not to break the crust. We put some chocolate pudding on and then put it in the refrigerator. Then we added cream whip.

I did not taste this one, but it looked good!

The macaroni and cheese was easy! We put some uncooked noodles in a casserole dish. Then some milk and butter and salt and pepper. Then we added cheddar cheese to the top. We mixed it a little bit. Then we put it in the oven and baked it a long time! I think it was an hour and a half.

It tasted very good, but it was gone before everyone was full. We made some regular noodles too and they were gone before everyone was full. So Uncle Dave made some Mexican grilled cheese (I forgot their name).

I had fun!

Winter Fun

Yesterday we went to Lake Ann and went tubing. I went down several times. It was a long way to get up the hill, and it was steep!

Megan would have gone if she had not got so cold so fast.

It was different from the Kalihari, because you went straight, not turns and twists. The tubes are heavy at Lake Ann and not so heavy at the water park.  I did not have a favorite type of tubing. Daddy prefers the heat. I want to do both again!

Wild Wildebeast

There are two slides.  One is called Wild Wildebeest, and the other is Elephant’s Trunk.  I do not know which one this is. But they are very similar. One has an opening on the top. The other has an opening in the middle. One is green and the other is blue.

This was one of my favorite rides. I like the blue one better because it had a great big opening at the beginning and the opening was shorter than the green one.  It was fun to race. I liked it because it was like a great big HUGE slide.  I also liked that after I rode it, I could do it again and again and again without waiting in line very long.

I thought you might like to see what the rides looked like from the bottom.  The blue one and the green one are the racing rides. The yellow one is Victoria Falls which you ride down on a big tube with four people. The red one is like a great big slide. There is a purple one like it and you go down them like a mummy (with your hands crossed over your chest).

Adrian rode down the Victoria Falls one! Momma blogged about it here!  Momma raced Daddy down the tube slides. Daddy won, I think.  We didn’t take pictures because we did not have the camera and we were watching Megan at the bottom.

Decorating and Eating Cookies

Yesterday, we went upstairs at 3:30 to go swimming. There was a free cookie decorating table. I decorated Megan’s Rhinoceros cookie. It was orange with brown as mud. I had a hippo that was very dirty! Everybody got to make one and eat it. Except for Daddy, he was cooking dinner, so Audrey made one for him.

Megan licked the frosting off and did not like the cookie. I thought the cookie was good, especially the chocolate.

I hope to go again!

He was a little bigger than Adrian (when Adrian was born). Adrian is amazed that Henri is bigger than he was! He was very cute. I love him.  Congratulations Auntie Lilly and Uncle Sam.

Colorado

We went to Colorado. It is 2 hours different from IN. We were traveling on the interstate most of the way.

We stayed in the house that Oma grew up in. There is a down and up stairs, both have a kitchen. We slept downstairs. I slept in the living room because Audrey and I were sleeping on the couch in the living room.

While there, we had a tea party. It was fun, very, very fun!  Audrey and I were the hostesses. We invited Aunt Francis, Aunt Bonnie, Aunt Katherine and her little boy, Oma, Mommy and Megan. Everyone dressed up. We baked some cookies. We had apples with caramel sauce. It was Aunt Bonnie’s first ever real tea party!

Lots of fun

Grandpa and Grandma took us up north in August. My blog was being ornery, so I could not get pictures. Sorry it took so long. We went on vacation and then to a wedding with my grandparents. We camped at Fort Wilkins.

We went to the fort. The fort was fun. People lived at the fort. My great, great, great (what ever many great) grandma Jane Masters, lived there. When the bell rung you should run to the fort because the Indians were attacking. One day the bell rang! All the people ran to the fort. There was a soldier trying to untangle a cow and explaining to them why the bell rang. The cow got tangled in the bell rope!

I hope to go back and explore more. There was a lot to read and I could not read it all. These are some pictures that I took of my favorite places at the fort.

Fun in 4-H

This is my first year in 4-H.  I had fun making my projects.  I have a black and white picture poster and a colored picture poster. I have a cotton candy pink candle too! We are going to go to the fair and I am looking forward to seeing how my posters and cotton candy candle did!

Playing with Bubbles

Yesterday we were playing with bubbles. We used homemade bubbles. Here is the recipe.

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap
  • 2 Tablespoons glycerin
  • Shake together well and let sit overnight.
  • Use Mark’s wand for big bubbles 🙂

The three top ones, I took. The three bottom ones Momma took. I want to go bubble blowing soon!
