Camp Patmos

Being able to go to camp Patmos to help this summer was a lot of fun.

First, I had to learn how to fill out an application.  It was okay, but a little challenging.  The next one will be a lot easier.

Then I got to learn how to work in the kitchen during staff training.  I stayed the first week of camp to help.

Here are some pictures of when I was heading home.  I will post more when I have the chance.

P.S.  I would really like to go help again soon.

With Auntie Kristie before leaving.
Taking the ferry for the first time by myself.
On the other side with Daddy!

Soccer Started

This week, soccer started. I have a new coach and some new team mates.  We have only had three practices, but I think I will really like him.

If you would like to come to one of my games, this is my schedule for this season.  The bold games are home games.

(Wow, this is the first year, in at least three years, that no  game is scheduled on Mother’s Day!  Surprise!)

Elkhart Parks Photo Contest

We entered the Elkhart County Parks Photo Contest again this year.  I put in seven pictures.  It is my last year that I can submit pictures in the “youth” division.

Photos will be displayed at the Elkhart County Historical Museum (304 W. Vistula Street in Bristol, IN) from 10:00, 20 Jan thru closing on Friday the 26th.  It looks like the hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

We plan to go Saturday morning.  Maybe I will see you there!

Super Easy Bread

I wanted to try an experiment. I took a good pizza crust we like and a dutch oven bread we like and combined them.  All the measurements are approximate 🙂

  • A little less than 5 cups flour
  • 1 Tbl sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2.5 Tbl yeast
  • 2 Tbl oil
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  1. Mixed all together.
  2. Knead dough well.
  3. Let rise in greased bowl till doubled.
  4. Preheat a dutch oven in the stove at 450.
  5. Carefully put dough in dutch oven and place in oven.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes with the lid and then take lid off for the last ten minutes or until bread is golden.
  7. The bread will sound hollow when done.
  8.  Cool before cutting

I think I would like it a little fluffer. So next time I would punch the bread down and let it rise again when I preheated the oven.  Another thing I will try is shredding cheese to put in it.
