Even though Mark is away at school, he asked Momma to buy me a birthday flower. Isn’t he sweet?

Sixteen!
Momma and I saw a picture like this and I thought it would be a good birthday picture. I like this picture because I like soccer and to dress up.
Betsy
Betsy was my great aunt’s doll. Aunt Bonnie was given Betsy when she was three or four. It was her only doll.
Betsy needed a new home. Aunt Bonnie gave her to me. She has a few feed sack dresses that Aunt Bonnie’s Mom made and a pink jacket with a matching pink bonnet.
Megan enjoys playing with Betsy. She has to be careful because the doll is over 70 years old and very fragile.
Betsy now is in a basket with the rest of my doll collection. She is probably my favorite because she is the oldest and she has a very special story for me.
Kayak with Friends
This weekend we went kayaking with some friends. I really enjoyed it! My favorite part was going under the bridges. Some of them you could feel the cars going over.
I hope that we can go kayaking again this summer! Thank you Evie and Pappa Wood for taking us!
Daddy
Happy Father’s day! I love it when my Daddy take me on dates with him. I like the times he brings home flower for me. What are (were) some of your favorite times with your Daddy?
Babysitting
We are babysitting our cousin’s son Jonathan. He is about 15 months. He just learned how to walk. It is fun playing with him.
Cake
For Audrey’s birthday, I combined recipes to make her a grain free chocolate peanut butter cake. The cake is from lifemadefull.com and the peanut butter and chocolate layers where recipes I found a long time ago. I put peanut butter m&ms on for decoration. It turned out very good! It was rich though!
Megan’s Soccer
Megan’s soccer season is over. She did very well. Megan was a great defender. She made several goals, and helped some of the other girls make some. She also enjoyed learning to be goalie.
Bread
We found a super easy bread recipe that we have been experimenting with. You mix together 3 cups flour, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp yeast and 1.5 cups water. Mix it well and then let set for 8-18 hours. Heat your oven to 450 degrees. Put a dutch oven in the oven with the lid on and warm up for 30 minutes. Place dough on parchment paper, add flour if needed! Let rest while oven warms up. Bake in dutch oven for 45 minutes with the lid on. Then take off and let cook another 10 minutes or until golden brown.
We have tried this recipe with 1/4 cup sour dough starter and it turned out excellent. Today I added 1 cup shredded cheese and it looks great also!
Candy Sale
This weekend we were vendors for Ruth and Friends tea (they were raising money for Soup for Success). I made candy! I had caramels, toffee and mint bark. I do not know if having samples would have helped any, there were so many other sweets there for the tea. But next time, I will try to have some.
I had fun! I learned to interact with people better. Maybe I can do this again one day, we will see.
