Help Wanted

ReadingI have trouble reading. God made me so I can’t read very well. I have been trying hard to learn to read, but I am still not where I want to be.

School is a little harder for me.  Because I can’t read, someone reads me all of my lessons. I am doing most of my subjects with Audrey so Momma or Audrey can read my lessons. Sometimes it is frustrating because I could get my school done faster if I could read it myself.

I am good in math but struggle with memorizing things.  So it makes a lot of classes hard.

We have learned if someone has put a story on my MP3 player, or we find a CD that matches the book I am reading, I can read the book while listening to the recording. I remember a lot better what I read that way. I have been able to read some really good stories like Tolkien’s Lord of the Ring Series and Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia.  I can read Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and a lot of classics. I like Little Women and Girl of the Limberlost.

I know that God made me this way purposely. It is teaching me patience and perseverance :)  It is also making me learn to ask for help.

Momma and Daddy help find audio books on the internet. I check out recordings from the library. We have started to buy some favorites.

But I have a bunch of books that I would love to read that we can’t find.  I started a new page on my blog of books and audio books that I am looking for.  Would you please help me look for them?  I prefer unabridged books. The audio books need to match, word for word. If you can find them on sale or at garage sales for really good prices, can you pick me up some for my collection?

Thank you!

Soccer

Soccer Soccer2I had my first soccer game of the season yesterday.  I had lots of fun.  The score was 2-1!

I almost made a goal.  I overshot the goal though.  I will try for another one at my next game.

About half way through, I tripped on my foot funny, I don’t know what happened. I fell.  Now my foot is swollen.  It hurts to walk, but not a lot.

Today I am going to “baby it”, quoting Momma.  I have to leave it up and not walk on it much.  Momma does not want me going up and down the stairs much either.

Please pray that it heals very quickly.  Many of our games are early this year, and by Tuesday, we will have played half of the games for the season. I don’t want to miss them.

Here is this season’s schedule if you are interested in seeing me play:

Easter Dresses

Easter dressesThis pattern is from my Great Grandma.  It was a dress she had made in the 1950’s!

I liked this dress so I made it for Easter.  I found the material off the sale rack and Daddy we said we could buy it.  It is the first time I ever picked out everything myself.

The hardest part was doing the hem, because it was like ten million yards!  It felt like that because it is a circle skirt plus an insert because it is a wrap around.  The original dress pattern is just below the knees, but I wanted it longer, so we added some length to it.

Instead of buttons on the front, we put grommets and a tie.  It fits me perfectly right now, but we wanted it to fit longer. Momma said, “a lot longer!”

Megan wanted to match me.  So we found a pattern and it was the wrong way around. So we reversed it and altered it some.

I want to make another dress like this one.

Megan at Work

Megan helpingToday’s guest speaker is Megan.  She helped me at work.

I went to work with Anya. I feed first the puppies then the kittys and then the goats. I try to feed the ‘pacas, but they big.  They not big big big, but they are big. Someone has to be in their cage with me.

I like Obykanopee! Because he is big little friend. He don’t like me petting him. He my friend. He like me hugging him with Mark.

I like to help. I can’t  help today, maybe tomorrow.Megan with Oby

Heading to Work

Mark and I went to work early today. Momma came with us with the camera and said “let’s pretend we are getting National Geographic pictures.” She did not want us to pose, but wanted to get real pictures of what we do.

I feed the animals and do their water. I get Mark what he needs. I also play with the animals. Mark cleans up the alpacas stalls.

I like working. My favorite animals are the kittens and then the alpacas. It is funny when the kittens come into the alpaca area so they can go out the back door. They go between the squares in the fence and then between the alpacas feet to get where they want to go. They also like to climb the goats stalls. At night or in the summer, we do not give the alpacas hay. We do not give the goats pellets at night either.

Enjoy the pictures. They are all different colors, because some are under heat lamps and some under regular lights.
